Don’t Take Life for Granted

I’ve been dealing with a lot lately. On June 16 the day before Father’s day, I surprised my Dad by showing up a day early for Father’s Day. I spent the whole Saturday with my Mom and Dad and thought we were going to have a great evening as well as a great Father’s day, as well until Saturday evening turned tragic. As most of you already know I was in a very bad car accident with my mom and dad. I’m doing somewhat better, but unfortunately, both of my parents were killed in the wreck. We were stopped at a stop sign when a man in a flatbed truck heading north ran off the road and crashed into the driver’s side of our truck. He was going about 65 mph when he hit us. Our truck ( an s10) actually flipped several times in the air before landing. The man who hit us was also driving drunk. I’m very lucky to be alive and well enough to be typing this out for everyone to read. I posting this not to gain sympathy from others, but to let others know how much life is so precious. I would never think in a million years that I would lose my parents so early on in life. I have to say they were great parents and I will surely miss them a lot. Just take every day you spend with a loved one like it will be your last day with them, because you’ll never know when it could be your last day with them.

07/25/09/ Update:  Was not notified, which is super #FAIL for the system. Anyhow, I had stumbled across this article to find the guy had made an appeal for a lesser sentence. You can read the whole story about what happened that night here. Good thing the Judge denied the guy’s appeal…

My Rambles of Having Fun and Designing

As of late I’ve been busy designing things from Brochures, logos, to websites. I’ve also been named as the Lead Developer/designer for a local Charlotte organization, who helps raises money each year for the Susan G. Komen foundation. I’m honored to be helping such a great project out. Other than working freelance/ contract work full time as of late I’ve got a lot on my plate, but having enough time to have fun too. Since the weather has been warm I’ve been out and about on the weekends doing things from day trips to going to see some great bands. Other than spending my weekends out, or gaming and working during the week life right now is perfect. I’m currently booked with projects and hoping to get many more. I’m currently also redesigning some of my personal websites to show off my coding/graphic design skills. I’ll be launching a few sites soon too. That’s about it for me for a real update than posting Articles and such. If anyone needs design work, please feel free to contact me

It’s Been A Tiger of a Week…

This week has not been too bad, did have a chance to finally install Tiger (Mac OS X (10.4.6)) on the laptop, which is running superfast now. Not sure why, but Panther seemed so slow on the iBook. The iBook is not really that old either it was some of the last batch of ibooks before they released the macbooks, but anyhow it’s installed and I’m happy. I decided to wait on putting Leopard on the desktop and laptop (Macs) until it’s been out a while, whenever it does finally get released. Why I decided to wait is because if any bugs, glitches, etc. the software might have when it’s released. I’ve learned ( from buying Windows ME) to always wait for a couple releases before buying new software… Of course Photoshop is out now too, which has lead me to wait till I buy a new mac to get it because I really think it would run the best on a new intel mac. Then Hey…. I can finally say good-bye to windows for good. ASTA LA VISTA…..[tags]windows, macs, vista, xp,[/tags]
