After 5 years of existence, Indie 103.1 FM is no longer on the terrestrial airwaves but has moved on to an all Digital presence.
I actually started listening to them a couple of years ago after finding their online feed. I was in search of a true Indie music station, since there is no radio station where I live in NC that played Indie artists. Most all we have around here are stations that play classic rock, Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Top 40’s, and Pop.
This is the first I’ve heard of a normal radio station going from the traditional airwaves to being an all Digital broadcast. Maybe this will start a new trend to heighten Internet Radio, since Traditional media is dying. Now if there was just a device that would allow you to access Internet Radio from your car, then I would say good bye to Traditional radio all together.
