Had a short vacation spending time with family and friends, this past week at the beach. The weather was nice, but too hot. although it rained pretty much all day yesterday.
I was on the go pretty much the whole entire time and did not get to take any pictures I like I had plan. Anyhow, I did see the movie “Dark Knight” while away, which I thought it was a good movie and a great sequel to Batman Begins.
All in all I had a great trip and feel refreshed to start the next week…..
Today was a holiday here in the US known as Independence Day or commonly known as the 4th of July. Today many Americans hosted cook-outs, pool parties, and bbqs. Some even hosted their own fireworks display while some went to their local town display show. For me, this is the first year I did not go to a cook-out, or go to see fireworks, although I’ve seen a lot in the last two nights around my neighborhood.
It’s been a little different for me to spend the 4th, since my parents are no longer here. They always had a cook-out inviting family and friends over to eat some great hamburgers, hotdogs, etc. along with homemade ice cream too. Then always after everyone left My mom, dad and I would always head to Charlotte to see the fireworks. Now since they are gone, I mostly keep most all of my holidays pretty low key.

About this time today I was heading down to visit my parents for Father’s day. We had a great day until it turned tragic that evening. As some may remember from last year about what happen to my parents and I on Sat. June 16, 2007. of last year. On the eve of fathers day my parents and I were in a tragic accident that could have been prevented if the driver, who hit us had not been drinking. My parents were killed instantly, but I survived with minor cut and bruises. Unfortunately, I also had to have surgery earlier this year to remove the blood like clots that had formed from all the bruises I had. The trial for the guy who hit us was over this week too, which the jury found him guilty on all charges, which is good that the system worked for me, but still does not bring my parents back. All and all, it’s been a life changing, bad time for me since last year. I hope now that I can continue to move forward with my life and put all the negative things that has happen behind me.
