So sad to hear about Steve’s passing. He was a creative visionary in all the products Apple has created through the years.

CubeStudio is the name of where AlterCube lives ( a design firm, the one I work with sometimes). Anyhow I’ve been working on redesigning the site for sometime now and decided to give it a refresh. I’m using new technologies like the PHP framework Codeigniter mixed with pulling database queries from WordPress. I know this is a geeky post, but hey after all I am a geek.
On the mac I use the color picker all the time. I’ve always wanted to be able to use it without opening an application. I’ve found a way you can and it’s pretty simple too.
Open up AppleScript Editor) and enter this text:
choose colorNow, save it as an application (File -> Save As, and set the File Format pop-up to Application), and you’re done!
It’s a simple script saved as an application that will open up the Mac OS X Color Picker without having to use an application to get to it.
